I want to:
Eat macaroons
Ride a yellow bike to the Eiffel Tower
See the Mona Lisa
Eat breakfast at a different bakery every morning
Go to church in French*
Buy French lingerie
Buy French lingerie
Take a cooking class
Walk along the River Sienne
Have a picnic
Eat chocolate
Take long walks in the middle of the night with my sweetheart
And that can only be done in one place.
Its on. The hubs-is-graduating-law-school, honeymoon-we-never-took trip. And we're dreaming big.
See, husband usually works part time, and that's what we budget for. But, he's working full time this summer at a law firm. We figure if we put that extra money away this summer, and cut back a few things, i.e. the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what not, we'll have enough.
It will be fun to see such a small amount in an account grow. What are you saving up for these days?
While it is a year away, to me that means I can start looking up French words and such like I did when I went to Brazil.
If we can save enough money, we plan to rent a vacation home in the heart of downtown for a week and live like Parisians in the Spring.** If not hostels.
So far, I've been collecting guides and travel tips and daydreaming. Which is half the fun I think.
I know it is a completely unoriginal idea, but I have always found it romantic, and while I plan to visit all of Europe someday, this is where I want to start. It is a location that hubs hasn't been to either -- which is good and strange because he's been just about everywhere else.
**Spring is what I'm hoping, but truly it may be more dependant on the bar exam.

You go girl! It's magical - is it 9:18 pm (something like that) when the tower is all sparkly!
Oh yay! You will have the time of your life. We have a sub-savings account for travel as well. We're hoping for China 2010. : )
I am soooo excited for you. Italy is getting mighty close-- must resist the urge to spend.
This is such a great idea - I wish we had done the same! We could be headed somewhere fuuuuuuun in a month. :( Can you add a "M&M" savings account for us?
so fun!! i'm so jealous!
While we didn't do a trip near as big as Paris, planning a trip for graduation/anniversary is the greatest. It gives you multiple things to look forward to and helps the year go by faster as you get ready for it all. I am jealous that you're planning to go to paris though.... Oh well, it will be Disneyland for us next year but that's what you get when you have kids!
Here is a phrase to memorize...
J'aimerais le chocolat s'il vous plaƮt
(I would love some chocolate please)
Nat, you would DIE. Just DIE! You have to go. Add eat a crepe from a street vendor at midnight to your list. Get nutella and banana. ;)
