Wearing heels everyday has been hard on my feet and back and I've been on the hunt for comfy heels. For some reason I'm convinced there are heels out there, somewhere, that will feel like slippers.
I heard that Cole Haan partnered with Nike awhile ago, so when the Nordstrom sale started, and the hubs and I went shopping for the anniversary, I checked it out. But spending $275 for shoes was a little steep.
OK, more than a little. Still, they were noticeably comfortable and it's a sexy little pump. The shoes that worked for me weren't part of the annual sale -- of course right?
There were some small wedges that looked more like flats that were $90 -- but I'm looking for heels. If I'm going to spend $$, I want sexy, smokin', looks-like-I-put-some-effort-into-it heels.
The Nordies shoe employee recommended Biala wedges, saying it was an Italian designer that specialized in soft leather and comfortable shoes, so I bought the 'Dina' Slingback.
I think after staring at the Cole Haans they seemed cheaper or something, but I wore them to church (the 3-hour test) and they pinched my toes. So I decided they were not worth the money when the search was for comfortable shoes. So I returned them -- that's why we love Nordstrom, right?
I gave up for the sake of the fact that I didn't believe in spending that much money on shoes when our food bill is climbing.
Then, THEN -- I'm reading Jensylvania (thanks Marilea) and she posts these.
They are the YOU Venice by Crocs. They aren't made with foam --but they have the same foam in the sole that makes people willingly walk around in those silly Croc shoes, feeling like they are walking on air. They still come with a pretty steep price tag -- $150. But they are foam! And supposedly comfortable. I dare say they would pass the church test.So are they worth it?

I like a good shoe too, but I think $150 is still too steep! Go to Nordstrom Rack or Marshalls, and look for a wedge heel -- way more comfortable. I am confident that you should be able to find a comfy shoe between $30 - $50! Then, you can buy two pairs (one in camel, and one in black), and still be well under $150!!! But, the YOU Venice are really cute -- I mean, who doesn't love a great Maryjane shoe?!! Good LUCK!
Those are stinkin cute shoes, and are way better than $275. If you have the money, go for it, but only if you can return them if they don't work out.
How can a spike be comfy? It goes against the nature of the tendons in the heel, etc. I did just buy my first pair of Cole Haun's...that Nike Heel Air Lift Suspension, Wings of Nike, make me feel as though I am "walkin' on sunshine" Whoa! Listen they were under 90 bucks and school teachers need two things...a large bladder and the most comfortable shoes to do cartwheels and cheers all day! I am glad to be old and not have to wear the high stuff...some day you young peeps will see the light...it is all about comfort with a dash of style.
If you can actually buy comfort and style, I say it is worth it Natalie.
Clark has a heel line. I love! Check them out. I think they are more affordable then cole haun. I have to switch shoes thrrough out the day but if I wear a heel that is around 2 inches I can last the whole day!
They look definitely worth it with an A+ for comfort and cuteness! You styling diva you, oh and I absolutely love your new banner!!
I just could never spend that much money on a pair of shoes no matter how cute they were but that is just me. I have 4 kids and all the bills that come with them to pay. The most I ever paid for shoes was 90 bucks and that was when I was a teenager with a job and no bills of my own except gas. I just couldn't do it.
oh wow, maybe..you always have such great shoes, you rock them all so well:)! Speaking of shoes, sent Adam's Kenneth Cole's with my mom who will be seeing Heidi tomorrow in San Diego who will keep them at her apt. til you pick them up!:)
Heather -- another reason why I shouldn't spend so much on shoes! We seem to lose them!!
Lisa -- I guess that's the difference between being a mom with a morgage (jealous of course) and a wife working full-time. All about priorities.
Melinda -- I admire you for wearing heels and standing all day!! I couldn't do it!
Peg -- I think I saw those -- they were wedge style? I tried those on and thought they weren't heeled enough. I'm looking for actual stilettos.
Nicole -- thanks for the tip about the Rack. I always have success there!!
